Environment
The city offers a high quality of life, with a clean and safe environment with little congestion and low pollution. The appearance and maintenance of the city centre is vitally important to make it a pleasant environment to work in and for visitors to enjoy.
City Centre Officer’s Role
ICCM employ a city centre officer (CCO), John Shaw, to patrol the city centre on a daily basis.
His daily tasks include:

Monitoring Graffiti/Vandalism and removing when possible

Removing fly posting

Maintaining the information drum

Inspecting buildings for weeds and external issues

Inspecting the city centre for litter and other environmental hazards

Assisting members where possible with enviromental issues near their premises

Inspecting the ICCM car park in the morning to ensure it safe for its users
Environment Committee
ICCM formulated an environment committee consisting of board members and the CCO and safer city co-ordinator. They meet on a monthly basis to discuss any issues that all parties have come across and ways in which the problems can be solved. They work on developing projects that will encourage better care of the city centre.
