You can download an application form on this site (Best Bar None Section) and closing date for all applications are 5th September.

06.02.07 Crime Rate Plummets in Inverness City Centre

The crime rate in Inverness City Centre has plummeted since the start of a campaign to make the streets safer, according to police figures released yesterday. Housebreaking is down 84.3%, car crime down 60%, shoplifting down 51.9%, serious
and violent crime down 41.6% and vandalism down 21.5%.

14.12.06 BAKOO Nightclub wins Gold at Best Bar None Awards

Bakoo nightclub scooped top prize in the inaugural Best Bar None Awards. The Kings Highway and G's Nightclub won silver awards.  Bronze awards went to Osbournes Bar, Lauders Bar and The Foundry.

20.11.06 Best Bar None Awards - 9 premises entered.

A total of 9 licensed premises have entered the Best Bar None competition.  The ceremony will be held at the Town House on Wednesday 13th December 2006.

24.10.06 Inverness awarded Safer Shopping Status

Inverness City Centre has been awarded the Scottish Business Crime Centre's 'SAFER SHOPPING AWARD'.

Safeinverness applied for this award earlier this year and are delighted to have been successful

12.07.06 Inverness City Centre Pubwatch launched


A full functioning pubwatch scheme has been launched
with the support of local licensees and authorities. The scheme will be run by the licensees and they will use the structure and protocols of safeinverness to move it forward. The first commitee meeting took place on Tuesday 11th July.  18 licensed premises have at presentsigned up which is a positive step towards a safer evening economy.

30.06.06 Retail Park begins 3 month trial of Radio-link and safeinverness 

The retail park at Eastfield Way now has ten businesses
participating in the free month trial of radios and safeinverness membership. After the trial the businesses will
be invited to join safeinverness if they see the benefits of the iniative in deterring crime in their business area.

Best Bar None National Awards is a scheme sponsored by Diageo which encourages best practice in pubs/clubs where each has to gain nationally recognised awards relating to good practice and customer service in the licensing industry.

safeinverness and Central Highland Taxis have joined forces to start improving the public transport system within Inverness, with Central Highland Taxis joining the Crime Reduction initiative safeinverness giving them better access to information to better protect their business, their staff and their customers.
